Former Florence and Ohio Valley pitcher Chris Jakubauskas has made the Seattle Mariners opening day roster.
Jakubauskas spent 2003-04 with the Freedom before joining the Redcoats in 2005. After moving to other independent leagues, he was signed by the Mariners in 2007. Last season he was 3-0 in Double-A and 5-1 in Triple-A.

I wish Chris all the luck in the world. Right before the Roosters broke camp in 2005 they released Chris and he signed with the Redcoats. He was at our house that day. He is a great guy.
Chris got his first win on Friday.
