Frontier League changes player rules

Starting next season, a team can have three veterans and three two-year players, an addition of one two-year player.

In another, likely very popular, move, a club can have one player older than 27 (up to age 30) if that player has been under contract with the team for at least 100 games in the previous two seasons.

By my count, only four players are eligible for the over-27 rule in 2010: Kalamazoo's Joe Ramos and Simon Williams (meaning the Kings can only keep one), Southern Illinois' Tony Roth, and Washington's Brett Grandstrand (who has already announced his retirement).

This also includes Gilberto Mejia, from the WC Thunderbolts. He turned 27 on September 1, but is under contract for 2010.
